Two Alexandria employers have been named to the Top 150 Workplaces in Minnesota by the Star Tribune: Bursch Travel and Bell Bank.

Ranked 53rd on the small company list, Bursch Travel is owned by Fred and Terri Bursch of Alexandria. While the survey was completed by only the company's Minnesota employees, Bursch Travel has 17 Upper Midwest locations in five states, including North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Wyoming. The company has 12 Minnesota offices.

"This award is a credit to our hard-working employees," said company president Fred Bursch in a news release. "My father started the company 61 years ago with the idea of sharing the success with members of his team. As the company has grown we have never forgotten our roots."

Bell Bank claimed the No. 1 spot on the list of midsize employers. WIth 20 locations in Minnesota and North Dakota, it embraces the philosopy, "Happy employees! Happy customers!"

On its website, it says, "With this as our mission, core values of family, unequaled service and giving back are at the heart of what we do. Employees and customers alike are treated like family, and Bell is recognized as a top place to work and to do business. We're a place where people matter, and results matter. That's the Bell difference."
