• Jake Cruze is a recipient of Knute Nelson’s (KN) Tree of Excellence award. This award is the highest level of recognition through the KN Employee Recognition Program. Cruze is a physical therapist for KN’s Short-Term Rehab Center. He was nominated by his peers who said that he “is always willing to assist in any way possible … and displays compassion, care and understanding when having difficult conversations with residents and/or their family members.”
• Anthony Zimny of Dilley Zimny Insurance of Alexandria recently attained the designation of certified insurance counselor (CIC). By earning and maintaining the CIC designation, he has demonstrated professional competence through the successful completion of the five CIC institutes and a series of rigorous written examinations focusing on all major fields of insurance, agency operations, and insurance management. This achievement signifies a commitment to continuing education.
• Eric Gorghuber of Garfield was named IT senior director at American Solutions for Business, based in Glenwood. Having joined the company in 2011, Gorghuber has held a key role in bringing the PeopleSoft application to a stable and reliable state for ASB. In the new position, Gorghuber will continue to direct business solutions that include ASB’s ERP software. In addition, he will become more involved in key strategic initiatives.
• Lonnie Benzinger and Cory Seifert, certified financial planners with Ameriprise Financial, Inc. in Alexandria, recently attended a two-day offsite investment symposium conference. They heard from numerous industry experts and investment firms that provided market updates, provided product ideas, and reviewed current trends. Topics during the conference included Social Security overview, duration and rising rates, a fixed income outlook, and asset protection-strategies to help clients safeguard wealth.
