Planned Parenthood relocates to Cedar Building
Planned Parenthood will continue to serve the area as it has for the past 35 years, but the Alexandria clinic now has a new location in Suite 165 of the Cedar Building, 700 Cedar Street, after their previous lease came to an end.
“When we learned earlier this year that we would need to be out of our old space in 120 days, a local group of people from the Alexandria community came together to find an alternative location and keep Planned Parenthood’s doors open,” said Sarah Stoesz, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. “We are incredibly grateful for their leadership and assistance.”
The clinic’s new location will offer the same services as the previous location.
“We provide cancer screenings, STD testing and treatment, well woman exams and birth control,” said Jen Aulwes, communications director of Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota. “It has a very broad range of reproductive health services.”
To make an appointment at Planned Parenthood, Aulwes recommends using the online system at www.ppmns.org.
“It’s always great to make an appointment online, but if someone walks in we always try to accommodate that as well,” she said.
A celebration open to the public will take place outside Planned Parenthood’s new location at 700 Cedar Street on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m.
